Old Fashioned Hand-Shaken Ice Cream

Carolann McCann

It's Summer! Our family loves this cold, and delicious treat.

The nice thing about this recipe is that it brings everyone together to create their own version of old fashioned hand-shaken ice cream.

This recipe may adapted to suit every taste

You will need:

Glass sealer jars (Mason and Ball are best!)

Sealer lids

Heavy Whipping Cream

Vanilla

Fresh or frozen berries

Dark Chocolate chips

Local honey, Swerve or your choice of sweetener

A pinch of sea salt

Other options: crushed almonds, walnuts, pecans, coconut, peanut butter

Directions

Have everyone take a mason jar and lid, with a chalk pen write your name on the jar to easily identify it when it's time to enjoy!

To the 8oz jar add

1cup heavy whipping cream, 1Tbsp sweetener of choice, 1 Tsp Vanilla, 1 pinch of sea salt and SHAKE FOR 10 seconds to mix ingredients together.

remove lid and add any flavour combination you like. For best results muddle or mash the fruit before adding to the jar, crushed or pieces of nuts are a nice addition too. The more you add the better the fun!

Once you have added your ingredients replace the lid, tighten well and SHAKE!

SET A 5 MINUTE TIMER!!

SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE

Place all the jars in the freezer for 2-3 hours.

Let stand for a few minutes then top with whipped cream and some sprinkles of your favorite toppings! Scoop or eat it right out the jar!!

This is FAMILY APPROVED!

Enjoy!
